Jan 27, 2024 - Eliminating a Frozen Faucet
When we built our garage in 2001 I added an outdoor faucet to have access to water. Because I only had the thickness of the wall to work with, I wasn't able to install a freeze proof faucet there. We built our house a few years later and installed a freeze proof faucet on the house, just eight feet away from the one on the garage. So we hadn't used the faucet on the garage in over 20 years. We never had an issue with it until it froze up during a long winter storm in 2024 and started leaking inside and outside the garage. Since we already had the freeze proof faucet nearby, I chose to just eliminate the faucet on the garage.
