My wife and I started building our own house in
January 2003. We finished the house 22 months later and moved in October
2004. We did all the work ourselves including excavation with a bobcat,
pouring the foundation, framing the building, roofing, plumbing,
electrical, insulation, sheetrock, and all finish work (tile, hardwood
floors, etc.). We even built all of our own cabinets throughout the
house.
To create this video I built a waterproof box for an old Olympus digital
camera, then mounted it on a pole on top of our shed. I then used camera
controller software on a laptop in the shed to take a picture every 15
minutes. After removing the night time pictures and days when we weren't
working on the house, I combined the photos to create this video.
