In 2001, my wife and I built our own garage from the
ground up. It is 24'x28' with a 9 foot ceiling and a large 16'x28' storage
attic. We built our own forms for pouring the concrete walls, and later
reused the forms when we built our house. We did all the work ourselves
except for the slab inside the garage which we hired out. We went a little
overboard with the finishes including full insulation, sheetrock, and a
T&G cedar ceiling in the attic. It took us about 10 months from start
to finish.
